Mint 400 owners Joshua and Matt Martelli are taking the Mint 400 race to a two-day racing format in 2019. The historic race is held every year in the desert just south of Las Vegas. Pre-race festivities for the event start with a parade of race vehicles down the Las Vegas strip. The party then moves to Fremont Street for two days. Events there include a pit crew challenge, tons of off-road vendor displays and technical inspection, before moving south to Primm for the actual race.
For the first time since 1976, motorcycles will be added to the race. A special 80-mile single-track course has been designed for racers. Two vintage classes have been added as well for the motos. The Martellis are expecting more spectators to attend the event with the two-day format. There are multiple spectating areas set up along the course along with a catered VIP area at the start/finish.
With the new format, Trick Trucks, Class 1500, Classes 6100, 6200, and 8000 all move to Sunday afternoon. Class 1000, UTV Pro Turbo, 4400 Ultra 4, 7200, 8100 Sportsman, and 5500 will be run Sunday morning. The remaining classes start the weekend on Saturday afternoon after the motorcycles finish. The 2019 Mint 400 kicks off Wednesday March 6.
