51st SCORE Baja 1000 to Air as a 2-Hour Televised SpecialPosted in News on February 20, 2019
If you missed the action at the 51st SCORE Baja 1000 this past November, you can watch it on television. The El Rey Network will air a two-hour televised special of the SCORE Baja 1000 this coming weekend.
In case you forgot, Cameron Steele and the Desert Assassins race team pulled off their first-ever SCORE Trophy Truck win at the Baja 1000. Cameras captured an emotional Steele at the finish line as he spoke of his dad, the late Mark Steele, who passed away months before the race. In addition to the emotions at the finish line, Rob MacCachren, who physically came in first, received a time penalty for a course infraction. MacCachren protested, but SCORE upheld the penalty.
Coincidentally, Cameron Steele is listed as a host on the show alongside Aaron Ampudia. The show will focus on winners in the different classes along with an overall look at the event. The 806-mile course was a challenge for racers, and they have plenty of stories to tell on the show. Out of 285 starters, only 177 officially finished the race.
The televised special airs on Sunday, February 24, 2019, and it is executive-produced by the legend Bud Brutsman. Check your local listings for details.
