Everything you need to go diesel but the fuel!
Wanna put a diesel crate engine package in your Jeep? Banks Power took the wrapper off its 630T 3.0L V-6 diesel 4x4 package. For starters, the package includes a Banks 630T 3.0L V-6 DOHC diesel (essentially VM Motori with Banks modifications). The engine weighs 535 lbs and makes between 221-268hp and 369-421 lb-ft depending on the tune. The electronic VGT turbo, Banks Techni-Cooler intercooler, intake, severe-duty vibration dampener, accessory drive with 210-amp alternator, and automated diesel controller and CAN-networked tranny controller (as well as more) are included.
Backing the engine is what Banks calls its 6745E six-speed auto tranny with a Banks multi-plate lockup torque converter. The tranny features a 4.03:1 First gear and 0.67:1 Overdrive. Banks lists the tranny weight with converter at 218 lbs. Finally, there's a T-case with driver-drop front output shaft (92 lbs with the 9-pound adapter). The total powertrain weight is right at 845 lbs, which is close to what a stock Jeep 4.0L drivetrain weighs in at and much less than an FSJ's iron V-8, three-speed auto, and T-case.
