How do you get tire dealers to push your brand of tires? The answer is simple—plenty of education and hands on experience. Kenda Tires did just that, inviting some of its biggest tire dealers and shop owners from across the country to a tire "bootcamp" event in Las Vegas.
Kenda started the week of training with a classroom session where dealers learned all about the company and how to market the tire brand. It was also an opportunity for the dealers to network with other dealers and learn how they run their own tire shops.
The next portion of Kenda's light truck tire bootcamp was a comparison test on various terrain. Kenda brought in competitor tires to show how they stack up against the popular Klever R/T, M/T, and A/T tires. Dealers had a chance to see firsthand results as the different brands of tires worked through gravel, dirt, rock, sand, and mud. Kenda then ran its Klever tires through the same test.
The final part of Kenda's light truck tire bootcamp included driving Jeeps through the Speed Vegas off-road course with all of the competitor tire brands. The dealers then got the opportunity to drive the Jeeps with the Kenda Klever tires as a comparison. Many were impressed at how well the Kenda-branded tires performed.
The purpose was to take the information learned at the bootcamp back to the shops. When customers come to buy tires, Kenda hopes the dealers will be able to tell them how well the Klever series stacks up against its competitors.
