Channellock 9-inch Professional Multi-Purpose Welder's PlierPosted in News on November 8, 2012
I've done all different kinds of welding for over 25 years yet I have never owned my own pair of welding pliers. Call me crazy or too cheap and lazy to buy a pair but I've simply made do with a pair of cutters and a regular pair of pliers. I know how much better a pair of welding pliers works, heck, I've used 'em. And to be honest I was kinda looking for a pair when these plopped in my lap. The Channellock 9-inch Professional Multi-Purpose Welder's Plier has all the features you'll want and need to clean the dingle balls out of the gas nozzle, or change the tip on your MIG gun, and more. Plus they are made right here in the U.S.! Below is what the company has to say about the pliers, I simply know they will save you a ton of time and wasted effort, trust me, I been doing it wrong for over 25 years. Designed as an ideal six-in-one plier, the CHANNELLOCK 9” 360 Professional Multi-Purpose Welder’s Plier is 12 ounces of drop-forged, high-carbon C1080 North American steel. CHANNELLOCK improved the design of traditional welder’s pliers by applying its high-leverage technology – positioning of the rivet closer to the head. This design provides more cutting power to the laser heat-treated edges to slice through weld wire. Additional improved features of the spring-loaded plier include:
An original groove-nose design for quick and clean spatter removal
A unique diamond-shape welder tip installation and removal tool that prevents stripping by gripping four sides of the welder tip
A precision-machined, laser heat-treated, knife-and-anvil cutting edge for long-term, superior cutting performance
An elongated nose with cross-hatch grips for secure drawing of wire or gripping of hot metal
A welder bushings and nozzle installation and removal tool
Signature CHANNELLOCK BLUE comfort grips; and,
Two hammering surfaces.
Like all CHANNELLOCK pliers, the 9” 360 Professional Multi-Purpose Welder’s Plier is manufactured in Meadville, Pa. A CODE BLUE version of the tool, model number 360CB, is also available.
