Love it or hate it?

Way back in 2000 or early 2001 I was mad when Jeep had appeared to simply change its mind. The original idea was to keep the popular squarish XJ Cherokee in production for an unspecified time and add the Liberty model to the Jeep fleet, knowing good and well the two vehicles did not really cater to the same customer. At least that's what Jeep told us at the press event at the time. A few months later we were told via email that 2001 would be the last model year for the XJ Cherokee and that the then new 2002 Liberty was the replacement. Since then, the overseas Liberty has been dubbed the Cherokee. It was really only a matter of time before the name was emblazoned on the U.S. model too. Well, fervently loyal classic Cherokee owners aren't happy about it as judged by a new anti-2014 Cherokee Facebook fan page you can see by CLICKING HERE. You can also see several irate posts on the Jeep Facebook page. What do you think, do you hate look of the new Cherokee enough to want Jeep to change the name? Let 'em know HERE.  Now you might be wondering what I think of the new 2014 Cherokee. Well, I'll tell you, but that's a story for another time.
