Mahindra Donates ROXOR Off-Road Vehicles to Hurricane Dorian Relief EffortsPosted in News on September 21, 2019
With sustained winds of 185 mph, Hurricane Dorian devastated the Bahamas earlier this month. Structures were destroyed and a reported 70,000 people were left homeless. Mahindra Automotive North America is stepping up to help the relief efforts by donating five heavy-duty ROXOR off-road vehicles.
The ROXORs will be used to aid the island's recovery, clean-up, and rebuilding. Miami-based Tropicars helped get the ROXOR vehicles to the Sandals foundation in Jamaica. Sandals is a non-profit organization that has been helping to uplift and empower Caribbean communities.
"This is what Mahindra's RISE philosophy means: seeing a community in trouble and providing help. We feel our vehicles are especially suited for this kind of dangerous, rugged environment and I can't think of a better way to put them into service than by helping the Bahamian people through what has been a truly horrific tragedy," said Rick Haas, Mahindra Automotive North Americas CEO.
The five ROXOR vehicles have hardtops and are outfitted with ultra-durable Kenda tires that will help the vehicles navigate through tough areas littered with debris from Dorian. The vehicles have key accessories such as winches, pintle hitches, and lightbars, equipping them to handle the terrain and heavy duty chores.
