Midnight Cowboy: Chevrolet Announces Tahoe and Suburban Special EditionsPosted in News on September 12, 2016
Chevrolet is giving fans of the Silverado Midnight—but who need seven or eight seats—two reasons to celebrate with special versions of the Tahoe and Suburban. Available for the 2017 model year, the Tahoe Midnight Edition and Suburban Midnight Edition expand Chevrolet’s huge lineup of factory-custom cars, trucks, and SUVs.
The Tahoe and Suburban Midnight Editions will be available on either the LT or Z71 trim levels. Finished exclusively in black, they also get black wheels (18 inches on the Z71 and 20 inches on the LT), plus black Chevy bow tie logos and roof rack cross rails. Furthermore, the Z71 gets a black grille insert, while the LT gets black assist steps. Standard features on both mirror those of their non-Midnight brethren. That means the Z71 Midnight gets an off-road–tuned suspension, hill descent control, skid plating, and Goodyear DuraTrac off-road tires. Both versions look good, but we have to confess, the LT might be our favorite. Thanks to its larger wheels, the hunkered down stance looks very, very subtle and sporty.
On top of the new special-edition models, all 2017 Tahoe and Suburban SUVs feature a standard Teen Driving system that enables parents to view the vehicle’s maximum speed, distance driven, and number of times safety features like stability control and collision warnings were activated on a given drive. Such a feature should encourage teens to keep things on the up and up when behind the wheel.
