A 33 inch tire won't fit under the bed of my MJ so when I put 33s on it about two years ago I had to figure out another way to carry a spare. I had one of those bed floor mounts in another MJ and hated it cause the tire took up most of the bed. So I came up with this. Some trailer-hitch stock I had laying around goes through the top edge of the bed and the bed floor and is fully welded in both places. Then, to attempt to keep this from happening, I put 1x2 tube under the lip of the bed the whole length of the rail and welded it to the bed and the upright. But, this is the second time it's managed to tear the weld from sheetmetal. So either I form a 12 x 12 inch 1/8-inch-thick plate and weld it on the outside around the upright or figure out a different tire mount. I built it for a 33 and test-fitted a 35 that wasn't on a wheel for for/aft positioning of the upright but in the end the wheelwell and fuel filler determined where it needed to go. So either I keep what I've got and try to make it work again... or I'm toying with the idea of abandoning this idea and going over to something like the Nukizer has.
