New bumper and rocker options for Wrangler
You already knew Mickey Thompson made top-quality tires and wheels. Now the company has transitioned into hardcore Wrangler bumpers and rocker guards with its M/T Metal line. The front bumper is a modular design that can be configured in up to 30 different ways. Different end caps are available including flush, stubby, and full length. You can also choose a winch plate, stinger or low-guard hoop, and more. Neat integrated features like rock light ports in the ends, welded ¾-inch D-ring mounts, and a cutout that accepts most common roller or hawse fairleads are standard. For the rear bumper, rock lights, an integrated tire carrier that swings out with the tailgate, and mounts for antennas, Hi-Lift Jack, and an adjustable-height tire carrier are just the tip of the iceberg. Finally, the rockers feature light ports front and rear and a nice kicked-out step to allow easier access to the roof, interior, and to keep the body away from trail debris. All the Mickey Thompson M/T Metal products are constructed of 11-gauge steel rather than overkill 3/16-inch plate. The 11-gauge has all the strength you’ll need, yet weighs one third less than 3/16-inch plate. Check back to www.jpmagazine.com for more 2013 SEMA coverage as we make it.
