If you have ever dreamed of an off-road heaven, it just might be like the annual Off-Road Expo held every year at the Fairplex (also home of the L.A. County Fair) in Pomona, California. This monster event is held in early October (the 3rd and 4th this year) and is a gigantic party and exposition for the off-road industry and the enthusiasts that engage in the lifestyle. Most of the Fairplex property is covered with 4x4s and dirt-duty vehicles of every shape, size, and brand. The buildings are stuffed to the doors with more rigs and exhibitors of every sort of upgrade, modification, and accessory product you can possibly imagine for whatever vehicle you take off the pavement.
This year, the Lucas Oil Off-Road Expo presented by General Tire offered short-course off-road truck performance demos; a ride-along experience with pro drivers on the rocky trail built by the folks at Pro Comp, Smittybilt, and Rubicon Express; Side-By-Side (UTV) ride-alongs with the crew from DragonFire Racing; RC demos; and the huge SCORE display at which on Saturday the 2015 Baja 1000 course route was unveiled for the first time to drivers and fans. In addition, Poison Spyder Girl Amanda Harper took the big win in the Miss Off-Road Expo contest on Sunday. Attendees also got the opportunity to meet and get autographs from off-road racing legends such as Ivan “Iromman” Stewart, Rod Hall, Walker Evans, BJ Baldwin, and Shannon Campbell.
A two-day total of approximately 66,000 fans were in attendance this year, and hopefully you were one of them. If not, we have a photo gallery below of what you would have come to see most, the Jeeps of the 2015 Off-Road Expo. However, there’s nothing like livin’ the dream and being there in person. Check out the Off-Road Expo website (offroadexpo.com) for all the news, and mark your calendar for October 1-2, 2016 so you won’t miss next year’s huge off-road event.
