2019 Overland Adventure: Day 2, Into The Canyon And Through The Wash #overlandadventure19Posted in Overland Adventure: 2019 on May 15, 2019
It was a rousing start to Four Wheeler's first-ever 2019 Overland Adventure as we stepped off from the Flying E Ranch and disappeared amongst Arizona's famous towering Saguaro cacti. Drivers from across the United States, in rigs ranging from enormous to compact, were left wide-eyed by the sprawling desert landscapes and twisted, rocky canyons.
Our trails began as graded dirt roads and soon transformed into the sandy bottom of an ephemeral stream. As the canyon walls tightened, we were faced with the climb out of the wash. Drivers chose lines out of the wash, which were anything from smooth to white-knuckle-inducing.
We gained altitude from there as the trails wound past abandoned (and some active) mining claims, before switchbacking up toward the town of Yarnell, Arizona. Our day concluded at a backcountry ranch where we dispersed and built camp for the night.
What's next? Well, Day 3 of the 2019 Overland Adventure starts bright and early as we proceed further North, gaining more elevation and making new memories.
