Two of the most prevalent products on four-wheel-drive vehicles these days are an onboard air compressor and a winch. Warn has now taken the best of both and put them together into a single unit called the PowerPlant. The air compressor uses a massive 4.6hp motor, has a built-in intercooler to reduce air temperature, and has a high airflow rating of 12 cfm at 0 psi and 5 cfm at 90 psi. When called upon as a winch, the PowerPlant unit answers with a three-stage planetary geartrain, a Gen II motor, a new contractor design that requires less current draw for improved reliability, and an automatic load-holding brake for effective winch operation and positive operator feedback. The new unit is available in two configurations: 9,500 pounds for enthusiasts who demand faster line speed, and a 12,000-pound high-duty for longer motor duty cycles.

Audio books are becoming more and more popular these days and are great road trip companions. First Overland is one book we as 4WD enthusiasts should all spend some time listening to. It is the extraordinary account of one of the longest overland journeys, from London to Singapore. As the book relates, the journey was one that "several expeditions had already tried. Some had got as far as the deserts of Persia; a few had even reached the plains of India. But no one had managed to go on from there: over the jungle-clad mountains of Assam and across northern Burma to Thailand and Malaya."

CAGE Offroad Products has just released its new 4-inch Jeep TJ lift for all '96-'06 Jeep Wranglers. The lift kit features progressive-rate coil springs for excellent ride quality and suspension travel. Complete systems come with CAGE's nitrogen-pressurized twin-tube shocks made of heavy-duty, 0.200-inch-wall tubing with greasable polyurethane bushings to allow for caster and driveline angle correction while also producing a much stronger overall suspension system. A transfer-case drop kit is included with every system to reduce rear driveline vibrations.

The mounting system you select has to perform as well as be practical: Not everyone has the skills or resources to build a custom front bumper and winch housing. Whoever you are, you need to check out the new Superwinch Jeep mounting systems. Mounted to the front of your Jeep, the mount plate securely handles 9,000 pounds of pull for effective, twist-free performance. The mounting systems are compatible with all CJ, YJ, and TJ models and can handle 6,000- through 9,000-pound winches (except Husky) to make a complete, affordable winching system that promises convenience, safety, and great looks. Superwinch Jeep mounts are constructed of high-strength steel and feature a rugged, powdercoated finish.

Covercraft Industries has released the latest addition to its Canine Covers line of vehicle interior protection products. These semicustom bucket seat protectors are designed for pets that ride in your front or rear bucket seats and are available in eight popular interior colors. These covers fit most bucket seats with up to 24 inches seatback height, 23-inch seatback width, and 20-inch seat-base cushion depth with 21-inch width. Generous hook and loop straps assure an easy and secure installation, and these handy covers feature a poly/cotton drill-weave fabric with a water-repellent finish that breathes for Fido's travel comfort. The fabric weave provides a positive footing surface, while the quilted padded seat base provides pet comfort. Security "pods" between the seat base and seatback help hold the protector in position. Should your seat protector become soiled, it's machine-washable and takes only minutes to remove and replace.

If you own a '99-'04 WJ Grand Cherokee running the 4.0L engine, you are in luck because Rusty's Off-Road Products' new Air Tube is a quick and easy performance modification that will keep your Jeep running smooth. Not only that, but the Air Tube is said to add 5 to 10 hp while improving your fuel economy numbers. The Air Tube will accept K&N or True Flow air filters and includes a silicone hose that clamps directly to the stock throttle body for a simple installation. The silicone hose and Air Tube both come with a lifetime warranty and are heat- and oil-resistant.

B.C. Broncos built these headers especially for the '66-'77 Bronco with most engine, transmission, and transfer-case combinations in mind, including the "P" head. The headers are ceramic-coated inside and out and feature 14-gauge 1-5/8-inch tubing, 3/8-inch flanges, and 2-1/2-inch collectors designed to clear the stock starter, clutch linkage, motor mount, bellhousing, frame, and floorboard. B.C. claims a gain of 29 hp at the rear wheels and an additional 11 hp with the company's two-into-one exhaust added. The headers are available in the traditional three-bolt-flange and slip-flange (no gasket) versions. Either version comes with or without O2 bungs.

Airing down your tires just got a lot quicker. The unique patented design of the ARB E-Z Deflator allows the valve core to be removed to deflate the tire at an increased speed. An integrated sliding valve provides an accurate reading of the tire pressure while deflation is in process, ensuring the desired psi is achieved. The quality bronze bourdon tube gauge design ensures accuracy is not affected by changes in temperature, humidity, or altitude. Made from corrosion-resistant brass and stainless steel, this tool has been geared for precision movement. The gauge is covered with a protective rubber guard for maximum grip and features an easy-to-read dial with 1-psi increments from 4 to 60 psi. Packaged in a canvas pouch styled to match the new ARB off-road accessory bags, the ARB E-Z Deflator is the perfect addition to your recovery kit.
