Safety Seal Tire Repair Kit - Neat Stuff

At a quick glance, the new Safety Seal kit for trucks looks just like the popular off-road version, but a closer peek reveals a much longer probe and plugs of twice the length. Made to work on 16-ply truck tires, this kit can make it easier to fix aggressive trail tires, too.

Safety Seal's New Truck Kit
Since it's a heck of a lot quicker to fix a punctured tire by plugging the hole with a Safety Seal than to switch to the spare, the Safety Seal has become the standard trail fix. North Shore Labs, makers of the Safety Seal kits, recently added an ATV and a truck version to the existing "auto" and "off-road" kits. The contents of the new truck kit are different from the off-road set in that they're designed to work on 16-ply tires, too. This time bigger can be better, as the truck probe is six inches long (versus 3.5 inches), providing better leverage when poking through hefty shoulder lugs. While there are only 30 Safety Seal plugs in the truck box, at eight inches, they are twice as long as we're used to seeing. That can come in real handy for those nasty gashes. For normal punctures, just cut the truck Safety Seal in half before inserting it.
