Quadratec now offers the first winch designed and engineered specifically for your Jeep. The Q9000 provides all of the capability that most enthusiasts will ever need for occasional use and the Q11000 provides even more capability for heavier Jeeps, such as the four-door Wrangler Unlimited. Quadratec’s engineers work directly with the factory to provide solutions, which are specifically tailored to your Jeep. The powerful 4.8hp series-wound motor and class-leading low gear ratios give fast line speeds with a battery-friendly low-current draw, which means you will get the most winching time from your available state of battery charge. All Q Series winches include two sets of solenoid brackets for side-mounting or top-mounting and Quadratec backs these winches with an industry-best limited lifetime-warranty on mechanical parts and a one-year warranty on all electrical components. Detailed installation instructions and a handy glove compartment-sized owners manual with winching guide are included. Thanks to Quadratec’s massive purchasing power, the Q9000 retails under $300, while the Q11000 is under $400.
Built in the UK to demanding specifications, Extreme Outback Products’ Mil-Spec Multi Choice Deflators are some of the most innovative deflators on the market. They feature six different pressure ranges all preset and clearly visible. Want to change to a different setting? Just turn the dial to your desired number. Now you have the ability to easily lower the pressure in two-psi increments, as the need arises. Plus every time you use the Mil-Spec Multi Choice Deflators, they self-clean by design. And with over three inches of linear surface area for the air to escape, these deflators are much faster than the traditional single-setting deflators. They come in two pressure ranges. The Rock Crawler units are pre-set at 2-, 4-, 6-, 8-, 10-, and 12 psi and the Standard units are pre-set at 10-, 12-, 14-, 16-, 18-, and 20 psi.

J.T.’S Parts and Accessories offers heavy-duty replacement 3.73 aftermarket ring-and-pinions for the Toyota FJ Cruiser, 4Runner, Tacoma, and Prado. For many years Toyota 4x4s have been known for their strength and reliability all over the world. Out of the box these vehicles feature some pretty great drivetrains, but they do have limits. The factory 8-inch rear differential was quite robust for its time, when it debuted in 1979, but today’s combination of heavy vehicles and oversized tires have proven to push the 8-inch past its limits where many failures of the OEM rear ring-and-pinions can be found. OEM-replacement gears are in the $1,000 range and there were no aftermarket options, until now.

For the Hummer H3 and H3T drivers out there Zone Offroad now offers a suspension option to clear up to 35-inch tires and improve off-road capabilities. The 2-inch leveling kit includes a pair of torsion bar keys and front shock spacers built to provide a level stance and improve ground clearance. All keys are American-made and are resonant frequency tested to guarantee a solid casting before being CNC machined to ensure the proper amount of lift for your H3 or H3T. Front shock spacers are designed to not only compensate for the added lift, but help gain wheel travel by allowing the suspension to fully droop to the factory frame limiter. Easy-to-follow instructions allow for a quick install.

Montana By Trail
Former Four Wheeler contributor Willie Worthy has recently completed his latest book, 4x4 Routes of Western Montana. Worthy’s new book features 225 pages that include over 40 routes with turn-by-turn directions, mileage, and GPS coordinates that will guide you along the most interesting primitive motorized routes that western Montana has to offer, all while providing histories of early settlement and insights into the geology of the areas traveled. If you like to explore old mining areas, poke around old buildings, enjoy magnificent views, and visit high-elevation mountain lakes, this is the book for you. All the routes shown at the time of printing are legal roads that have been driven multiple times by the author and most can be completed within a day’s drive out of Missoula.
