Billet Aluminum Housing

The BPD FICM has its power supply board encased in silicone inside a billet aluminum housing for better heat dissipation. The circuit board is actually much thicker and definitely more vibration resistant (also in thanks to the added silicone). While the four-phase unit has a fixed 48 volts, the six-phase version can be set to either 53 or 58 volts by clipping one of the two wires. The six-phase version also has two additional redundant circuits in case of the rare event of a circuit failure (thus why the heavy-duty six-phase version is $200 more).
