Here’s an AMC 401 on its way into a ’79 Jeep FSJ Cherokee. The Pivot Plate made it much easier to micro-adjust the engine’s angle and line it up with the transmission. Traditional-style V-8 engines can bolt straight to the Pivot Plate sans adapters. Odd-shaped EFI intakes require an adapter to connect the Pivot Plate to the engine. Adapters are application-specific and usually straddle the EFI intake and connect to the cylinder heads.
