4943 Maxal Weld Filler Maxal has introduced a new aluminum filler alloy for MIG and TIG welding. The new alloy is designated 4943 and has distinct advantages over traditional 4043 material. Use 4943 in place of 4043. • Tests reveal 4943 has up to 40 percent greater yield strength and up to 20 percent greater ultimate tensile strength compared to 4340 filler material. Comparable to 4340 in terms of ease of welding, corrosion resistance, and low hot cracking sensitivity • Can be used on a variety of specific aluminum alloys. Check the Maxal website for details. Available in both cut-length TIG rods and spools of MIG wire
