Advanced Air Systems Monster Valves - 25-Second Air-DownPosted in Product Reviews on August 1, 2005
If you're like us, then getting on the trail is a pri-ority, and anything that slows us down in that pursuit is an annoyance. One such annoyance is the slow, tedious process of airing down tires to the desired dirt pressure. If you don't know already, lowering your tire's air pressure when you get to the trail can give you a major advantage in the traction department-because as you lower the pressure the tires flatten out and give you a larger footprint. We usually like to run around 12-18 psi if we are not running bead locks, and lower than that if we are, so getting from normal street pressure of over 30 psi to the low single-digit pressures can take a little while, even if you remove the valve core in your tire. Advanced Air Systems (AAS), makers of the original CO2 Powertanks, is now offering Monster Valves for about $130, which can cut air-down time in half. Plus they can be installed in your wheels without removing the tires. Heck, you can even leave the wheels on the truck for install if you please.
