32-Valve Firebreather
Valley Head Service has taken its 40 years of experience to the drawing board. The 32-valve Thunder Power aluminum heads are what it's going to take to raise your power quotient by 20 percent on your big-block Chevy engine. Twin intake and exhaust ports dramatically increase both cylinder filling and exhaust scavenging (due to higher cross-sectional areas). The cloverleaf-shaped combustion chambers displace 102 cc and can be milled to 90 cc. The entire package comes with assembled heads, a four-barrel intake manifold, exhaust header flanges, and 3-inch tube extensions. Information: Valley Head Service, 818.993.7000

Off-Road School For the New School
If you're just starting out and have the sense to take a little advice from more experienced individuals, you should check out an off-road course like the one taught at Off-Road Teach & Tour Adventures. They have Stage One and Stage Two classes for the individual or group, and are also available for corporate accounts like phone companies who need to educate their drivers on how to safely get to remote towers and back. The courses not only teach you how to handle your rig off-road, but also the basics of how your 4WD system works. Information: Off-Road Teach & Tour Adventures, 949.872.3022,

CNC Lightbar
Morphic Industries now has the first-ever CNC billet-aluminum Lightbar with remote on-the-fly adjustment. With the push of a button, you can adjust light angle from your seat. It's machined to fit up to four 9-inch lights and is HID compatible. You buy your own lights. The Lightbar easily mounts to most off-road/sand trucks, prerunners, and race vehicles, and is offered in manual or auto-adjust. Information: Morphic Industries, 928.505.0245,

Level Headed
OK, so you wanna get the front of your Chevy up a little, but don't want a full-blown lift? Check out Cognito Motorsport's 2- to 3-inch leveling kit for current eight-lug Chevy/GMCs trucks and Suburbans. There is no cranking of the torsion bars, and the new upper A-arms will realign new aftermarket ball joints for bind-free articulation. Shock extensions are also included since the shock on a stock Chevy truck is the most limiting factor (scary, huh?). Information: Cognito Motorsports, 866.426.4648,

Off-Road Vans
Oh jeez, lookout. Now it's only a matter of time before we start seeing minivans on the trail, not just in grocery store parking lots. Overland Vans is now making suspensions and off-road parts for minivans. Bumpers, roof racks, drop cradles, you name it-Overland Vans has it in minivan applications. Information: Overland Vans, 866.347.8826,

All-In-One Toyota Transfer-Case Package
How's this for a super-tough crossmember and skid package? Laser-cut 3/8-inch steel plate is utilized for crossmember strength, while a single sheet of 1/4-inch plate is CNC formed into a skidplate that hugs the transfer case. All bolts holding the skidplate are recessed for a smooth belly that won't catch on anything. The package is already powdercoated for long-lasting durability. Driving Skills
One of our favorite reads this month has got to be The Bad Driver's Handbook. If you want to know how to cut off a pedestrian, show cops how a real high-speed pursuit is supposed to go, and teach your teenage driver absolutely nothing about the road besides the fact that motorcycles are the safer form of transportation, then you need to pick up a copy of this satirical book. In no time you'll learn how to deal with so-called "good" drivers and what hand signals you can offer them. Information: Santa Monica Press, 310.230.7759, www.santa
