Icon F-150 Tubular Upper Control Arms
Icon Vehicle Dynamics has developed tubular upper control arms for ’09 and later Ford F-150 trucks. The arms use high-quality 1-inch Teflon-lined uniballs for increased wheel travel. Weak OEM ball joints present problems by limiting suspension travel, especially when using Icon’s 21⁄2-inch VS Series performance coilover shocks. Using 1-inch Teflon-lined uniballs combined with 17-4 stainless taper pin adapters increases the upper arms misalignment, allowing for smooth and clean wheel travel without worrying about factory ball joint bind.
