The new orange Extra Duty brake pads include a surface coating to make break-in faster and better. The pad material is attached to the backing plate using an NRS system hook retainer, which improves bond strength by five times, leaving no chance of pad material separation from the backing plate. The large V-shaped groove(s) in the pad help vent the pad and better cool the hot centers. The rings shown are Nuloc piston inserts that go inside the brake caliper piston and butt up to the pad to stop vibration and noise.
