Halogen lighting comes from a tungsten filament sitting inside a sealed bulb filled with an inert gas such as iodine or bromine. This combination can operate at very high temperature to produce far brighter light than a standard sealed bulb. The tungsten filament and gas produce bulbs with a working life of 50 to 300 hours that darken very little over their working lifespan.
