The tread of the Cooper Discoverer STT uses large lugs and voids for maximum traction, along with sipes on the tread blocks to conform to terrain and resist hydroplaning. Looking across the tread face, it is clear that there is a combination of rubber and void on the ground at all times, which keeps tire slap noise to a minimum.
