Every year we look forward to wandering the familiar trails of Moab at the Easter Jeep Safari. The trails typically don’t change all that much, but the vendor show held on Thursday and Friday usually surprises us with the latest in 4x4 gear. This year was even more interesting because we poked and prodded to get some not yet released product info from a couple of manufacturers. Lots of cool stuff is on the horizon. Check out what we found, and keep your eyes peeled for even more new products in future issues.
Premier Power Welder has lots of applications for its high-amp alternator system that doubles as a welder, 120-volt outlet, and quick battery charger. The newest applications include the 2007-to-2013 Jeep Wranglers.

Mopar Gets It!
Mopar has been busy revamping its entire Jeep product line with real off-road-worthy products. This 2-inch suspension kit offered high-quality progressive-rate coils and Fox shocks. Other new Mopar gadgets include bolt-in Dana 60 axles for the JK. Street-legal beadlocks should be coming soon. We’re also told to expect more competitive pricing.
Jeep Six Performance
Want more performance from your Jeep six-cylinder? Along with turbo kits, forged cranks, and H-beam rods, 505 Performance now offers bolt-in performance roller rockers for several different Jeep six-cylinders. They are said to bump up horsepower and increase fuel economy.

If you need to brighten up your nights without draining your battery or pocketbook, Ledwarehouse.com might have just the lights you are looking for. There are many different shapes and sizes with more on the way all the time. We look forward to the release of the bulkhead-mounted giant led lights that can be attached to a flat surface by simply drilling a hole.
If you have too many blind spots on your trail rig, maybe you need the RubiCam from Red Peak Off Road. You can mount the cameras nearly anywhere on your 4x4 and see the offending area on screen from the comfort of the driver’s seat.

Grease Free Flex
Do you want plenty of suspension flex without having to man the grease gun? Synergy Manufacturing may have the suspension joints for you. The DDT (Dual Durometer with Teflon liner) press-in joint replaces many common OEM-sized Clevite rubber bushings. Keep an eye out for universal applications coming soon, including a forged housing with a heavy-duty threaded shank.

Axle Swap Antics
Junkyard shopping for JK axles might be a chore, but Artec Industries makes the installation easy with its weld-on 1-ton axle brackets, which simplify swapping in a Dana 60 and 14-bolt under your Jeep. The heavy-duty brackets allow you to properly locate all of your JK’s suspension components.

40-Year Cooling Cure
Flex-a-lite now offers over 40 years’ worth of Jeep radiator applications. Stock replacement and engine swap radiators are available for nearly all Jeep models built from 1972 to 2014, including the newest JK Hemi V-8 radiator.
This Goat Built 17-gallon universal fuel cell comes ready to accept an off-the-shelf GM in-tank fuel pump assembly. The tank includes a cap with a built-in gas gauge. Universal mounting brackets are available. You also might want to check out the LS accessory brackets that simplify engine swapping.

Along with all of its aluminum Jeep, Suzuki, and Toyota replacement bodies, Aqualu now offers a four-door FJ40 conversion body that fits on an FJ80 frame. You can have a fully modern and reliable Toyota chassis and drivetrain with a retro vintage look. The FJ80 dashboard is also retained.
The Jeep JK has a confined engine compartment, so STS Turbo came up with a way to mount a remote turbo underneath the Jeep. The system is bolt on and is said to provide 300 horsepower at the wheels using an oil-less Comp turbo. Other remote-mount turbo kits are also available.

For those looking for more suspension flex, Iron Rock Off Road brought out its long-arm TJ lift kit. The front is converted to a three-link with extra heavy-duty control arms. A flat belly pan protects the underside.

Better Built Led
The installation of led taillights can go terribly wrong if you over-tighten the hardware. So, Max-Bilt decided to build a better mousetrap, the Trail Tail. The Max-Bilt Trail Tail LED taillights have built-in mounting bosses that protect the improved circuit board from heavy-handed installers.
Nemesis Industries brought out a uniquely shaped shorty JK front bumper. It’s full of trail-worthy features and comes complete with light tabs, a winch mount, and sturdy tow points.

If you’re looking for all sorts of different LED lights, J.W. Speaker has you covered. The company recently introduced this model 9049 three-module LED fog lightbar with a hard-coated polycarbonate lens.

Factor 55 introduced its folding FlatLink. It replaces a conventional winch hook with a safer and stronger shackle thimble that holds a clevis and folds flat when not in use. The FlatLink is available in several different colors to match your 4x4.

The Parts Dude 4x4 Under Hood Cover Kit insulates the hood, deadening engine noise. It also allows for easier under-hood cleaning, especially when mud is your terrain of choice. It’s available for several Jeep models and comes with the cover, a pre-cut pad, aerosol glue for the pad, and the cover mounting hardware.

Dave’s Customs Unlimited introduced a couple new products, including universal and model-specific LS engine mounts. Another cool item was the company’s Jeep Wrangler TJ Rear Frame Back Half Kit, which is designed to allow clearance for coilovers and larger tires.

Light Is Right
Everyone knows you can improve the performance of your 2007-to-present Jeep Wrangler by eliminating extra weight. To that end, Rock Hard 4x4 now offers a full-width aluminum front bumper for the popular JK. It’s significantly lighter than a steel version and can be easily picked up buy one person.

Painless Performance Products showed a trick 500-amp dual battery management system as well as multiple universal distribution blocks. The compact system keeps tabs on the condition of the batteries and directs the flow of electricity for proper charging and quick starting.

Cooling under-hood temperatures can sometimes be a challenge. Daystar offers a JK Hood Vent set, which is a great option for those with swapped in engines or if you’re simply looking for a different look.
For years, JKS Manufacturing has offered high-quality individual suspension components, now the company offers complete Jeep lift kits with progressive-rate coils and properly tuned Fox shocks.

The factory Wrangler Rubicon is pretty tough, but a front driveshaft issue like a small bend or worn out U-joint or CV is enough to cause it to fragment at road speed. Rock-Slide Engineering developed a transfer case support that provides a little bit of insurance against the explosive results caused by an out of whack driveshaft.

Junkyard Supercharger Swapping
Adding a supercharger to your Jeep can be an expensive endeavor. The good news is Boostec now offers complete kits to install a common OE junkyard GM supercharger on your Jeep engine. Several different applications are available.
Tired of your plastic JK taillights crunching on rocks? We spotted this prototype kit from Off Road Only that includes a slick replacement panel using a round led light. The taillight kit will come with everything you need to keep your computer from going haywire too.

Bolt-On Big Brakes
If you are looking to stop your Jeep quicker, Dynatrac may have what you are looking for. By the time you read this, the company should have easy-to-install high-performance big brake kits available for the ’07-to-present Wrangler.
RubiconTested.com had this multi-motor Red Winches Hornet on hand. The overdrive version offers a blistering unloaded line speed of 197 feet per minute. Yeah, that makes it more than twice as fast as a Warn 8274. If you hate waiting around, this winch may be for you, just don’t get sucked in.
Lead-footed drivers need control arms that don’t fail. Ruff Stuff Specialties now offers stout control arms for the ’07-to-present Wrangler. The beefy lower arms feature huge 1.25-inch heat-treated chromoly rod ends with misalignment bushings on the axle side and flexible urethane bushings on the chassis side. Also cool are the offset JK tie rod ends that allow a stronger straight tie rod instead of one with bends.

All Axle Upgrades
Dana has been busy working to bring lots of new parts to the aftermarket. The big news is the SVL line of ring-and-pinion gearsets available for popular non-Dana axles. Now you can have Dana/Spicer quality in your GM or Ford axle. Other cool items include spools for off-road traction, and complete heavy-duty bolt-in Dana 60 axle assemblies for the 2007-up Wrangler.
We really liked the industrial look of the new forged Warn Premium winch hook, snatch block, clevis, and tree strap with steel ends. The new Premium winch accessories feature a Cerakote coating for maximum protection against wear and abrasion, and the winch hook even has a built-in bottle opener.

If you’re a do-it-yourselfer and want a rattle-free spare tire carrier, Comp4x4.com might have just the pivot you need to incorporate into your home-built rear bumper. The heavy-duty tire carrier hinge kit comes complete with a double shear bracket, a fully sealed bearing housing, huge bearings, and a built-in grease fitting. Lots of options are available.
By the time you read this, Rock Krawler Suspension will be the first shock manufacturer to offer completely bolt-on external bypass 4x4 shocks. The position-sensitive and easily adjustable shocks allow better vehicle control and a smoother ride no matter what the terrain. The shocks will be available for many popular applications including the 2007-up Jeep Wrangler.
