New 6-Inch Lift For GMS
This 6-inch suspension system lifts '00-'05 GM K1500 Suburban, Yukon, Tahoe, and Avalanche 4WDs with no required driveshaft modifications. With this kit you retain use of factory control arms and steering centerlinks. The kit increases caster for improved control over larger tires. Information: 517/279-2135, www.bds-suspension.com.

 January 2006 4X4 Products Shackles

ORD HD Shackles For GM Vehicles
These new shackles from Offroad Design will work on almost any leaf-sprung GM vehicle built between 1967 and 1987. With versions available for either stock-height or lifted applications, these shackles should improve ride quality and stability for any GM vehicle with original shackles. Featuring extended lengths of 1/2 inch over stock, ORD's HD shackles can also help prevent lift springs from hitting the framerails in some cases. They use 1/2-inch Grade 8 bolts and custom bushings for increased durability. With 4130 sleeves, 3/8-inch-thick side plates, and greasable bushings, there isn't a part on these shackles that ORD hasn't improved. Information: 970/945-7777, www.offroaddesign.com.

January 2006 4X4 Products Torque Converter

A Better Torque Converter For Hemi-Powered Rams
Many OE torque converters are equipped with plastic stators. Though the use of plastic saves manufacturers money, the benefits quickly vanish as plastic stators fatigue quickly during high-heat events such as towing heavy loads. TCI is known for building quality torque converters that increase power, efficiency, and mileage. The new TCI Dodge Hemi truck torque converter for 5-45RFE transmissions features an aluminum stator for increased torque multiplication and longer life. Additionally, TCI converters feature furnace-brazed construction and stronger thrust bearings. The result is said to be better power throughout the entire rpm range. January 2006 4X4 Products Rc Car

First-Ever Rc Rockcrawler
We tested this new RC Jeep from Funrise Toy Corporation and were very impressed with how well it worked in rocks, sand, and dirt. It has tons of suspension flex, a two-speed transfer case, and even low-pressure pneumatic tires to simulate the real thing. The rig is built to 1:6 scale and features proportional steering. A four-band radio control unit is included and enables you to compete with others without signal interference. It even includes a great action-packed DVD about Real Rockcrawling. Priced around $150, these RC Jeeps ought to be high on any wheeler's Christmas list. Information: 800/882-3808, www.funrise.com.
