September 2007 4X4 Products Billet Fuel Pumps

Billet Fuel Pumps
Check out Edelbrock's new 170gph Victor Series Billet Aluminum Fuel Pumps. Offered for the most popular applications, this new pump is constructed of high-quality 6061-T6 aluminum. Each Victor fuel pump is clear anodized for a long-lasting appearance and features high-quality stainless steel ARP fasteners to add to the precision quality. Due to the fact that these mechanical fuel pumps are high-flowing, they are ideal for high performance and racing applications. The 5/8-inch -18 inlet and outlet come with -8AN fittings installed to provide increased flow over street fuel pumps, and the base can be rotated to allow for added flexibility with various fuel line inlet/outlet configurations. All of these pumps include a copper crush washer for a leak-proof connection. These Victor Series billet-aluminum pumps produce 8.5-9 psi and require a pressure regulator such as Edelbrock's Fuel Pressure Regulator 8190 or 1727. These pumps are designed for use with gasoline or alcohol only. Info: 310/781-2222, www.edelbrock.com

September 2007 4X4 Products Air Intake

JK Intake
K&N just came out with a new high-flow intake system for the '07 Jeep Wrangler 3.8L V-6 (PN 63-1553). The power increase is said to be 8.17 hp at 4,807 rpm. To achieve more horsepower, K&N replaces the Wrangler's original intake assembly; including the airbox, air filter, and intake tube, with an all-new intake design. The new system draws air through a K&N filter that increases airflow and filtering capacity. The filter is isolated from engine heat by a powdercoated steel heat shield that replaces the stock airbox. Info: 800/858-3333, www.knfilters.com

September 2007 4X4 Products Sand Mats

Sand Mats
These flexible, high-density polyethylene mats enhance traction in soft sand or mud. Sand Mats feature numerous 1/4-inch bolts to increase friction between tires and the ground. No shovels, winches, ropes, or chains needed. And even better, the manufacturer says that a single individual can safely and easily free a stuck vehicle without help from others. Designed for even the heaviest diesel pushers, Sand Mats can withstand up to 30,000 psi, but are lightweight and flexible. Each mat measures approximately 12x48 inches and weighs 13 pounds. September 2007 4X4 Products Power Pup

Power Pup for all Three
Bully Dog Technologies just released its new Power Pup line of downloader for each of the new diesel engines that hit the market earlier this year from Chevrolet/GM, Dodge, and Ford. The Power Pup Downloader provides additional power, performance, fuel economy, and safety all in one package. The Power Pup comes with a wide variety of power settings ranging from "Tow Mode," designed specifically to achieve optimum performance while towing a trailer or fifth wheel, to the high-performance "Extreme" setting designed for ultimate performance.

In addition to the added power, performance, and fuel economy, the Power Pup features a number of valuable tools such as a code reader and the ability to adjust the factory speedometer for larger tires. Info: 866/285-5936, www.bullydog.com

September 2007 4X4 Products Jeep Tj Tube Fenders

Got Metal Cloak?
Check out these new TJ tube fenders from Rev111. We recently installed a set on our Project Teal Brute and were amazed with the high-quality design that is unlike anything we've seen before. A few of the cool features about these fenders include a significant increase in clearance between the wheelwells and the front tires, a removable flare (4- or 6-inch) that is super-easy to remove when tight technical trail work is required, and a trick-looking aluminum inner fenderwell that will have your buddies scoping for sure. The fenders also have a uniquely placed bar that overlaps each side of the hood for extra protection in the rough. We easily gained over 3 inches of clearance between the tire and fender at the closest point. We feel confident we can lower Teal Brute's ride height or install larger tires without additional fitment issues. This is a good thing because a lower center of gravity is always better on the trail. Watch for a full installation article in a future issue. Info: 951/541-0448, www.rev111.com

September 2007 4X4 Products Toyota Front Bumper

New Toyota Front Bumper
Off Road Solutions (ORS) announces its new front bumper for '84-'88 Toyota pickups and '86-'89 4Runners. The new ORS bumper maximizes ground clearance and approach angle while providing functionality and good looks without excessive weight. The main bumper architecture is built from 0.250-inch plate and 1.75-inch 0.120-wall DOM tubing. Recovery points and a mounting plate that accepts most common winches are standard features, while 2-inch LED turn signals and an additional grille hoop are optional. Bumpers come in bare metal, ready for paint. No welding is required for installation. Info: 303/278-6267, www.offroadsolutions.com

September 2007 4X4 Products Acos Pro Coilover

ACOS Pro by JKS Manufacturing
The ACOS (Adjustable Coil Over Spacer) Pro combines all the benefits of the company's original ACOS with a fully adjustable hydraulic bumpstop for complete control over suspension compression. A threaded adjuster ring allows fast, convenient, and easy ride-height adjustment at each corner of the vehicle. Installation increases ride height by 1 3/8 inch, and without removing any suspension components the ACOS Pro will provide a maximum increase of 3 inches using the existing coil springs.

September 2007 4X4 Products Acos Pro Kit

The integrated bump shock prevents the suspension from bottoming out when the vehicle is traveling at high speeds or supporting heavy loads. Although precharged with the ideal amount of nitrogen to suit most Jeep applications, the gas pressure can be manually adjusted to suit individual vehicle variances and equipment. The bump-shock length is also adjustable, enabling the user to determine the exact amount of suspension compression required before the bump shocks take effect. The ACOS Pro is designed to work in TJs, LJs, and the new JKs. Other applications will be announced soon. Info: 308/762-6949, www.jksmfg.com
