2011 Super Duty Captured!
Our spies have once again caught a mule of the 2011 Ford Super Duty undergoing testing. The Super Duty mule is now sporting production bodywork under the black camouflage, inspired by the 2002 F-350 Tonka and 2006 Super Chief concept truck. While the doors and greenhouse will remain the same, the entire front clip has been modified and judging from the camo, there may be a new rear fender stamping that houses modified taillights. Under the hood, the new truck houses Ford's all-new in-house 6.7L Scorpion turbodiesel V-8 or 6.2L premium V-8 and while manual hubs are retained, manual transmissions likely aren't, leaving Dodge as the only option for those shift-it-yourself holdouts like us.

Team Gordon Off-Road announced plans to run a third Hummer in the 2010 Dakar Rally. Eliseo Salazar, a Chilean former Formula One, IndyCar and sports car driver, is scheduled to be the driver of the team's third Hummer entry. Team Gordon Off-Road completed its fourth and most-successful attempt at the 2009 Dakar Rally, which ran throughout the South American countries of Argentina and Chile. Gordon finished Third overall behind Giniel De Villiers, the 31st Dakar Rally car class winner. Gordon's teammate, Eric Vigouroux drove his identical Hummer to a 13th-place finish.
Raptor R To Run Full Race Schedule
Ford Racing and Ford's Special Vehicle Team (SVT) announced today that the F-150 SVT Raptor R, the same truck that finished Third in class at the 41st SCORE Tecate Baja 1000, will run in the 2009 "Best In The Desert" race series. Veteran Ford truck racers and former "Rough Riders" Rob MacCachren and Steve Olliges will pilot the truck. The privately funded team will run all five points races for 2009 in the Raptor R to continue testing the durability of the 2010 F-150 SVT Raptor and its production components. The race truck is powered by a specially modified and calibrated 500hp version of the production 6.2-liter V-8 engine and is mounted to a production-spec six-speed automatic F-150 transmission. The F-150 SVT Raptor R also serves as a test bed for the development of a lineup of race-proven, desert-tested, off-road performance parts that will be available through the Ford Racing Performance Parts catalog.

K&N Takes Consumer Confidence to a New Level
Long known for its Million-Mile Limited Warranty, K&N continues to stand behind its product and its consumers. Occasionally, consumers may encounter uncooperative dealerships that claim the presence of a K&N air filter voids their vehicle warranty coverage. Even though there are laws designed to protect consumers, the problem can still exist, leaving the consumer at a disadvantage and the dealership in control. K&N now offers its Consumer Protection Pledge. The Pledge states that K&N will not allow a consumer to be taken advantage of by a misinformed dealership. K&N has a team of professionals specially trained to step in, interact directly with the dealership, and resolve any warranty concerns the dealership may have. If they cannot reach a solution with the dealership, the consumer will be taken care of, and K&N will pursue remedies directly from the dealership. The complete details of K&N's Consumer Protection Pledge and Warranties can be found online at http://www.knfilters.com/warranty.htm.
