It may look stock at first glance, but the fact is, the biodiesel-burning 6.6-liter Duramax turbodiesel engine has been modified to generate an estimated 800 horsepower and 1,200 lb-ft of torque. The secret to its performance is due in part to a trio of products from Industrial Injection in Salt Lake City, Utah. The engine is fitted with their modified CP3 injection pump, which flows 42 percent more fuel than stock and can add up to 100 horsepower. They also installed Bosch-design Dragon Flow injectors, and these offer a 90 horsepower increase over stock injectors. Last, but certainly not least, is a high performance turbo with a 64mm inlet wheel and 74mm exhaust wheel. The folks over at SoCal Diesel in Valencia, California, programmed a pair of custom tunes for the engine. One is for daily driving and the other is for max power. Other underhood mods include Pure Power! cleanable and reusable stainless steel filters, a modified Magnaflow 4-inch-diameter exhaust, and a pair of Odyssey batteries.
