It’s like no Porsche you’ve ever seen but the family resemblance to the WWII Kübelwagen is very apparent. Mechanically it was more like the 4x4 Schwimwagen on steroids. It was built to NATO specifications, so it had features like a 24-volt electrical system, standardized jump start connectors, and so on. The military 597 had front and rear pintle hitches.
