Alan Wise’s ’71 Haflinger 700AP is a North American model with an interesting history. According to Wise, it was submitted to the U.S. Army for tests with Air Assault units because it fit so well into a Chinook helicopter. Obviously, it wasn’t selected, but how this particular unit then made it into the civilian world is unclear. Wise purchased it only a year ago from its longtime owner, an Austrian-born engineer who maintained it as it was used during tests. It shows only 7,500 miles.
