To clear some room under the rig and peel out the axles, we grabbed a set of 12-ton jackstands from Harbor Freight. While the 12-ton-max rating is a bit much for the relatively light Jeep chassis, our draw to the heavy-duty 12-ton jacks were for their ability to extend up to 30 inches. We also nabbed a pair of the 6-ton Pittsburg Automotive jacks from our local Harbor Freight to set the 2 1/2-ton axles in place.
