Here you can see the steering box, the bumper, and the shackle reversal all tied together. We had to trim some of that lower reinforcement to squeeze the bumper between the frame and the spring mounts, but GenRight assured us that our mods wouldn’t affect the “winchability” (if that’s a word) of the bumper. Towhooks weren’t our first choice for front recovery on this Jeep, but welded-on aluminum shackle mounts can work-harden, so towhooks it was. Chrome doesn’t always get you home, but we are hoping these will. Besides, it’s what came with the bumper kit.
