Given the high miles of the engine, a rear main-seal leak isn't a total shocker. And since we haven't determined the fate of our stock 4L60E transmission, we'll go ahead and take a better look at what other troubles may be hiding behind the bellhousing. With more than 1,000 miles of unknown terrain ahead and a beefy tire of the mud variety scheduled for the truck, we decided the factory front-differential assembly along with the light-duty IFS had to go. It was engineered from the factory as a driver-side drop differential, so we have a little bit of work ahead of us if we plan to switch things up a bit.
