2000 GMC Sierra Z71 Final Installment- The Ultimate Z71

Well if you've just finished reading the " Finish Lines" installment in the January '09 issue then you know that this is the last installment and web exclusive build feature for the Ultimate Z71. It has been a few months now since the truck was finished and completed the Ultimate Adventure. It seems like just yesterday that I picked up the high mileage Z71 and began taking the axe to it with the crew at Off Road Evolution. It's amazing to think how much we've transformed this rig and how tough it was to try and keep it looking as simple as possible. It's goes along with the old saying that a Roll Royce engineers job is easy, do whatever needs to be done to make it right and don't worry about the price, while the GM engineers job is far more difficult. Why you might ask? They are expected to deliver that same RR quality on what most of us would refer to as a beer budget. Well folks it's been fun and this is by no means the end of the Ultimate Z71 as I hope to keep the truck alive and well and when the contractual obligations are over and the truck is no longer in the spot light I have a few plans to give it a fresh appearance.

Thanks for reading,
