With the crossmember assembly lowered back down and pilot-holes drilled in the four marks we just made, it was time to break out the 1-inch hole saw and start hogging out the holes to their final dimension. It helps to have a spare set of hands to spray lubricant on the bit as you work your way through the frame. It’s not a difficult step, but it is a filthy one—make sure to wear safety glasses. Only the bottom sides get drilled here.
