It got old testing the engine and its components with a fuel can strapped to the fender, so I dropped the factory tank and pulled the sending unit. Although there wasn't a lot of rust inside, some dirt and debris had blown into the tank because the rig was stored in the high desert for years with no fuel cap. The sending unit was broken, but who cares. I removed the debris from the pickup tube and cleaned the tank. I used a coffee filter to filter the rank vintage fuel as it went straight back into the tank. Hey, it burns, right?
