With the drivetrain slung into place, I grabbed the rear driveshaft out of the tub and checked the condition of the old U-joints. One was completely damaged and rusted solid, so I grabbed and installed a used 1310 joint that I bring along in my M-715 as a trail spare. The other U-joint was still okay, so I purged it until fresh grease passed the seals and called it done. In the next installment I'll put in a radiator that doesn't double as a geyser, replace the front suspension, get rid of my milk crate driver's seat, and wrap up this pile for competition.
