Hazel swapped the front axle on Project JR, and I nabbed the high-pinion front Dana 30 for free. That got me good ball joints, and since it had raised sway bar mounts and I needed tie rods anyway, I decided to go for some extra clearance by flipping the tie rod and drag link over the knuckle. These tapered inserts from Goferit Off-Road make that a snap. Yeah, yeah, it is still two-wheel-drive. I hope to fix that with the next story.
