Once the BRT radiator was installed and the engine could finally operate at full-temperature, I bit the bullet and ordered up a new battery tray from Omix-Ada for a '76-up CJ (PN 11214.01). I slapped in a lawnmower-sized battery I keep handy for moving junk Jeeps around my property and cinched it down with a trucker-spec rubber bungee. Butch, but functional. I also threw a parts-store rebuild kit on the factory Motorcraft 2100 carb. While the carb was apart, I lowered the float level and yanked off all the choke components, 'cause I know how to make an engine purrrrrr.
