Now that the Cherokee was off the trailer and would be jockeyed around the driveway, we thought it prudent to at least change the engine sludge. The old oil smelled of burnt exhaust gas and had the color and consistency of used diesel oil. We found receipts for a lot of major engine work, including at least one valve job on both heads and another head gasket replacement. The 360 runs well enough, but we really don’t trust it. We just want it to get us by until we can score another 360 to build and drop in.
