Both U-joints in the front shafts were gonzo. This wasn’t even the worst one. Most of the needle bearings had turned to powder and evaporated. We had a pair of 760X-sized U-joints made by AC Delco that we bought cheap as spares, so we slung them in. They turned out to be horrible, with ill-fitting C-clips and piss-poor grease seals. We’ll upgrade the shafts in this rig in the future, so they’re only temporary, but do yourself a favor and go buy the real Spicer joints. The Dana 44 uses PN 5-760X.
