Bring along a bottle or floor jack and a long prybar to check the front ball joints. Jack the tire off the ground and pry upwards on the bottom of the tire while watching the upper and lower ball joints. If you see play, the ball joints will need replacing. It’s not uncommon for the factory ball joints to fail in less than 20,000 miles. It’s much less effective, but if you don’t have a jack and prybar have a friend pull forcibly on the top and bottom of the tire while you watch the ball joints and unitbearings for play.
