Once we got the engine in place in our last installment, we quickly realized that a rear driveshaft would not fit between our XJ’s Chrysler 8.25 axle and the NP231’s factory slip-yoke. Our solution was to contact JB Conversions for one of the company’s super-short 32-spline slip-yoke eliminator kits. This system is 31⁄8 inches shorter than a regular slip-yoke eliminator and more than 9 inches shorter than the stock setup.
