Ignition Cylinder

When Piggy came home with us, she did not come with keys. As with many older Jeeps, the ignition switch did not require a key, and the keys that activated the door locks were long-lost in some previous owner’s junk drawer. We had replaced the ignition cylinder with one that needs a key, but were not sure what to do about the doors. Luckily, BJ’s Off-Road has a door lock cylinder kit and door lock gaskets (pair). We installed both locks in about an hour. The new locks even come with two keys that say Jeep. Nice! We also tossed in a brand new J-truck dome light assembly from BJ’s Off-Road so that we can shed a little light on any maps we may be reading in the future.
