We took the leaky tank to a local radiator shop that steam cleaned it, pressure tested for leaks and then repaired them and pressure tested the tank again all for $60. That’s a deal that’s hard to beat and much less dangerous than trying to fix the tank ourselves. We then added the new sending unit and new filler neck hoses from BJ’s Off-Road. It’s nice to get parts that fit an old truck like this. The local parts store dosen’t carry these items. We cut up some radiator hoses to add between the gas tank straps and the tank in hopes that our hideous old tank will last a little longer.
