Rear Drum Brakes

Piggy the Pig Truck’s rear brakes were unexplored mechanical territory, and after driving Piggy a little we suspected that the front brakes were doing all the work. Pulling the rear drums showed us decent pads that did not seem to be doing much. Also the rear drums were over their maximum diameter so we decided to toss on a set of new drums and pads. Once installed, we realized the rear brakes were still not working. The culprit was a totally clogged rear brake line. No fluid was reaching the wheel cylinders. Back to the parts store—again. Heck, we’ll also toss in some new rear wheel cylinders while we are at it.
