Probably the most frustrating parts of the build related to electronics. Using the ’98 XJ’s wiring harness was not necessarily a bad idea, but it was a lot of work. We learned more about XJ wiring harnesses than we ever thought we would (or wanted to). Most recently, we struggled with the taillights. The damn bright element kept burning out on the bulbs after a short drive. We were using the old-school taillights that came with the Jeep. Turns out that the 6-volt 1154 light bulbs don’t like 12 volts. Good news is that 1157 bulbs fit and work with 12-volt systems. Can you tell the difference?
