Shock Crossmember Disconnect

We mocked up the flange-style disconnect so that you six-cylinder guys could see what we were talking about. Due to the inline engine’s higher overall height, the cross tube needs to be bent to clear it. You can’t use the CNC-machined disconnects with an angled connection because they won’t be able to be uncoupled. The disconnect provides space to get to engine components, or to pull the entire engine out, if needed. All tube is 11⁄2-inch-diameter, 0.120-wall and the formed plate is 3⁄16-inch-thick.
