1972 Chevy Suburban Welded Bumper Shackle Mounts
Here you can see the bumper has been welded together, and two hefty GM Truck Center shackle mounts were installed on the two main down tubes.
1972 Chevy Suburban Bumer Framerail Tie
This photo shows the way Kiss designed the bumper to tie directly into each framerail. We like the artistic way the tie-in tubes avoid the factory grille, allowing its removal without restriction.
1972 Chevy Suburban Warn Electric Winch
We picked the Warn M8274-50 electric winch mainly because it matched the old-school styling we wanted for the rig. It doesn't hurt that this winch is the fastest electric winch available today. With a no-load line speed of 73.4 feet per minute, nothing else comes close.

Here's an overall shot of the new front bumper, complete with extraction points and winch. We like the one-off appearance the bumper gives the rig.
1972 Chevy Suburban Bumper Tubes
While Alex worked on narrowing the roller fairlead, we decided to snap some photos of the bumper from down low so you could see how the tubes were arranged.
1972 Chevy Suburban Roller Fairlead
Because this bumper was entirely custom built, there simply wasn't a convenient way to mount a roller fairlead to it. As such, the fairlead also had to be customized. To do so, Kiss took the Warn roller fairlead that came with the winch, disassembled it, and cut it down to size so that it could be welded to the center of the bumper.
1972 Chevy Suburban Mounted Front Bumper
Overall, the new bumper sticks out about a foot more than the factory chrome bumper. However, the approach angle was improved significantly over stock because the new bumper design mounted the bumper higher.
1972 Chevy Suburban Welded Fairlead
This photo shows the newly narrowed roller fairlead just after it was tack-welded in place. Next, Kiss welded the fairlead to the bumper and reinstalled each roller to it. Then it was spray painted black to prevent rust, and each roller was reinstalled. Later on, we plan to have the complete frame, with bumpers attached, powdercoated satin black for uniform good looks.
1972 Chevy Suburban Rear Bumper Hitch
The rear bumper includes an integrated receiver hitch, complete with Warn recovery shackle bracket. This receiver was triangulated to each framerail under the cargo area of the rig. We're confident this setup will serve our needs quite well for both extraction and towing purposes.
